The official theme of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) is “Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all”, and Cambodia should use the border conflict as an example of where trust and international law is eroding, which is delivering a more volatile, unstable and conflict-prone world. Cambodia should emphasize how the UN’s actions in this region can help its global security interests and mandate overall.
